The process

You enter your name, address, desired class and driving school once. We use them for all further steps.

9 teaching units, valid for all classes. More about the course

At an officially recognised eye test centre, no older than 2 years. For C and D you need an ophthalmologist’s report. More about the eye test

Biometric, 35 × 45 mm, on paper in many cities. More about passport photos

We fill in your city’s application. You sign the original – the PDF does not replace your signature.

A little car drives over the hills to the finish: you can see at any time which step your application is at.

We have all your documents.

Your application is at the driving licence office.

The authority is checking your application.

The documents are back with us or your driving school.

Let’s go – theory test, here you come!

Example: Step 4 of 5 · 80 % – “Your papers have finally arrived, now you can take the theory test.”

Processing time varies by authority, e.g. about 2–4 weeks in Kreis Recklinghausen.
After the test order you have 12 months for the theory test, then 12 months for the practical test (example: Bottrop).
